Kindness Matters: Mental Health Awareness Week 2020

Next week marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week and we're very excited to announce how Amica HR are getting involved.

In our own team, we've all felt our fair share of growing pains while we adapt to the new normal during the COVID-19 outbreak, and that's partly why we think this years theme of kindness is so important.

We have a packed week of activities and partnered content to share with you, which we we hope will not only be informative, but also inspire you to take part in some activities in your own team for Mental Health Awareness Week.

Mindfulness Monday

Bluebell Healthcare have very kindly compiled a thought-piece of using mindfulness to help maintain your mental wellbeing during lockdown. It's an interesting read with lots of tips and tricks for making this time at home a little easier.

Time to Change Tuesday

Change can be a tricky thing to accept at the best of times, but especially in the case of the rapid and unprecedented alterations that our way of working has undergone. Watch our short video to learn our top tips for not only managing this change, but getting the best out of it!

Wellbeing Wednesday

Listen to our podcast with LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services). We discuss managing mental health in the workplace and our own experiences of how employers can support their team during difficult times.

Time to Plan Thursday

It's easy to get stuck thinking only of the here and now of COVID-19, but there will be a point that we come out of the other side.

Michelle Mook from Pro-Development will be sharing her thoughts on the road to recovery and what businesses can be doing now to engage with their employees in preparation for a return to the workplace.

Feel Good Friday

Did you know certain musical notes are proven to have a positive impact on your mood? Gary Jones has written a wonderful article on how you can utilise music to improve your mental wellbeing.

We'll also have a short video from the Co-founders of Moodbeam about the role technology can play in monitoring your mood.
